Why NDAs take longer than they should

NDAs are short documents. Most are three to five pages. But filling one still takes fifteen minutes if you're doing it by hand — opening last month's, changing the party names, hunting down the address fields, updating the date, checking the governing state.

Online NDA generators create generic agreements from scratch. That's fine if you don't have a template. If you do — if your attorney drafted your standard NDA years ago and you've refined it through actual deals — a generic generator is useless. You'd have to review and edit the output anyway to bring it back to your language.

A form-based fill workflow on your own template fixes this. The document stays exactly as you wrote it. You fill party names, addresses, purpose, and term in a form. The output is your NDA, filled correctly, ready to send.

"I want to turn an existing Word document into a fillable template. Just like search and replace but with a wizard interface."

How it works

1

Upload your NDA template

The Word doc your attorney drafted or that you've used for years. Don't change anything — upload it as-is.

2

AI identifies the fields

The AI reads the document and finds every variable: party names, addresses, purpose, term, governing state, signatory names, dates.

3

Fill and download

For each new agreement, open the saved template, fill the form in 60 seconds, and download a completed NDA ready for signature.

This is for you if

You sign NDAs more than once a month
You have your own standard NDA template
You don't want to rebuild your template in a new system
You're a solo attorney or small firm without document automation software
You send NDAs before contractor engagements, vendor agreements, or sales conversations
You've had to re-do an NDA because you left in the wrong party's name

Common questions

Can I use my own NDA template, or do I have to use yours?+
Your own template is the point. Upload the NDA your attorney drafted or that you've been using for years. Magic Decoder reads it and identifies the variable fields — you don't modify the document at all.
My NDA has a unilateral and a mutual version. Do I need two separate templates?+
Yes — keep them as two saved templates. Since the documents have meaningfully different structure and language, uploading each separately takes about 2 minutes and keeps the field detection clean.
Does the output preserve my formatting and letterhead?+
Yes. The filled document is generated from your original template, so your letterhead, fonts, section formatting, and signature blocks stay exactly as they were.
What happens if my NDA has a clause that varies by state?+
If the clause is a field you fill in (like 'Governing State: ___'), the AI will detect it. If it's a full paragraph that changes based on jurisdiction, you'd maintain a separate template per jurisdiction — same approach as the unilateral/mutual case.
Can I route the signed NDA through DocuSign after filling it?+
Not directly — Magic Decoder generates the document and you download it. From there you can upload it to DocuSign, HelloSign, or any e-signature platform as you normally would.
Is this only for law firms, or can any business use it?+
Any business that signs NDAs can use it. Most of the users are small businesses, consultants, and solo attorneys — not big firms with enterprise document management systems.
